LIFESTYLE, TECHNOLOGY, SPORTS, PEOPLE, LITERATURE, CULTURE, AND CINEMA 1.FILM REVIEW/DISCUSSION: The last time director SS Rajamouli managed to wow the audience was in 2017 with the film Baahubali: The Conclusion. It took him five long years for him to conceptualize his next film RRR (also dubbed in Hindi), shoot and bring it to the silver screen. Pulling off a multi-starrer with Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles might seem an accomplishment in itself. But Rajamouli manages to deliver even when it comes to the story. RRR runs on a relatively simple premise. There’s ‘fire’ – an angry, young police officer Ramaraju (Ram Charan) who is both revered and feared by the British. He has done their every bidding for years, he is the one they sic on anyone they want to capture and yet, he is the one who’s never given enough respect due to the colour of his skin. Then there’s ‘water’ – sweet, simple, innocent Bheem (Jr NTR) who has brute strength but uses it only when it serves his

SOCIAL ISSUE 1. The ghost village of Uttarakhand.  In the lockdown that was Ghost Villages might make you think that the villages we are talking about here are haunted or have a paranormal presence. But that’s not what this term implies. Ghost villages are at least 550 migration-hit villages in the state of Uttarakhand. These villages have lost more than half of their population to migration and since they are empty, imposed last year, the people who migrated from the villages to the big cities lost their jobs and means of income and that became one big reason why people started to return to their homes in the villages.  And hence the ghost villages started seeing a rise in their population. The term ghost was the English translation of the Hindi term “Bhootiya”. Over the years people had migrated to the cities in search of work and the villages were hardly left with any people. The deserted villages were hence devoid of human presence and started being called ghost villages.  Afte

Climate Change And Environment. 1.Chipko Andolan In 20 years, Chipko has acquired many facets, primarily as a conservation endeavor by the poor, a struggle for local control of natural resources and an effort by women to protect their environment. Chipko influenced the world, but have its local objectives been met? Author toured the districts of Garhwal and Kumaon and met the people behind the Chipko and those whose lives it has touched. He traced the origins and the spread of Chipko and assesses its contributions, its discord and it’s standing today. In the Crosscurrents section five Chipko observers, some of whom have been linked with the movement, present their views and a Chipko heroin, Gayatri Devi recounts the hard days. The Chipko movement can essentially be called a women's movement. Women, being solely in charge of cultivation, livestock and children, lost all they had because of floods and landslides, caused due to rise in deforestation in the face of urbanization.

WILDLIFE 1.USE OF ANIMAL FUR IN FASHION INDUSTRY. Humans have used leather, wool and fur for years and billions of animals are brutally slaughtered each year for the clothing industry. Mass production of fur and leather items has created a cruel system of farming, trapping, and skinning and, has sparked uproar among animal rights activists. Leather is probably one of the most fashionable fabrics used in clothing. Leather jackets, coats, gloves, boot. Few people actually realize they are wearing the skins of animals who have been killed in the millions to feed such inhumane production. Where does leather come from? To start with, your leather almost certainly is sourced from China or India. They can be ripped from cattle or even unborn calves. No way to be absolutely sure when buying mainstream leather. But even before this occurs, they need to be transported to the factories. The animals are often made to walk for days without rest, food and water. They are thrashed or injured
